(Update:4-4-25) It appears that the Little Pine Is. Bridge currently has two lanes open. We don't, at present, have information as to whether this is a temporary or permanent situation.

Florida Dept. of Transportation says that Phase one of the rebuilding of the Little Pine Island Bridge is expected to be completed within the next three months, at which point, Phase II will begin. Little Pine Island bridge engineering

When Phase one is completed, there will be two lanes of traffic open while construction on Phase II begins.

This will be possible since what eventually will become a bike lane will be used, temporarily as a second lane.

At any given time during daytime hours, traffic can be backed up to Burnt Store Rd. to the east of the bridge and to Pine Island Center to the west.
