UPDATE:

A near head-on accident, involving a red SUV (at far left) and a white Pick-up truck (right of center and on its side) with a camper occured just past the Pineland turn-off about 3 miles north of Pine Island Center, at around 2 - 2:30 pm, 12-5-25.

The initial reports are that one person was killed as a result. Witness stated the the driver of the truck tried to pass multiple cars heading north. Traffic had to be routed through Pomegranate and Pineland Rd. until around 8pm. We will provide more information if it becomes available.
